Behind Baby Kitten Eyes

Singapore

Posted by: loyster on: April 3, 2008

Just a few random pictures. Surprisingly, we didn’t take that many this time around. It was a very lazy kind of holiday. I had less sleep than if I were at home, though. We were back late every night. And you know the best part? Being out at night wasn’t scary at all – it felt really safe there.

On the way to Singapore. That’s the Seremban train station outside the window. Spent the whole journey trying to sleep. Kinda failed miserably at that. But really excited about the trip.

Ok – an extremely lousy picture but I hope you can see what we’re standing next to. Somehow I dunno why riding in Mom’s Mini is not as orgasmic as in Joey’s. And fyi, red and brown leather seats are soooo sexy.

Anxiously waiting for KT Tunstall’s concert to start. At first, we were a bit worried cause there weren’t many people in the hall. (We were going: Oh no … how would it feel to play to an empty hall???!) Well, turned out that it’s not that she doesn’t have many fans cause she sure as heck does. It seems that Singaporeans perception of time are no better than Malaysians. At 8.30, there were still many nuts streaming into the hall. Gee, they make Wei Li look like a Saint when it comes to time *lol*

Well, when we heard that there were Ben & Jerry’s at VIVO City, we couldn’t hotfoot it there fast enough. Sure, for us *sua ku* (that’s hoi polloi to you!) Malaysians, this is the closest we have to eating the infamous brand of ice cream. Verdict: For sheer flavour and choice though, Baskin Robbins wins by a small margin. Brownie points for the extremely cute decor though.

Notice how us girls are a bit on the short side – and that Hui Ghee and I are really small? It’s in the genes, man. Now Wei Li finally understands why I find it a little difficult finding clothes that fit. I’m seriously going to start buying only clothes from the kids department!

Anyway, I love this picture cause it’s a really rare one of 5 of us together. That nearly almost never happens. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. What made it juicier was that Ken could join us … a surprise considering the *aherm* debacle of the night before. But that story is for another day :)

The food is practically non-existent and they expect us to eat with our grimy, germ-infested fingers … but apart from that, this place is pretty far out. Trust my cousin Ghee Chuan, though, to initiate a Simon Says game with us on the wheel chair. Reminds me of the younger days when we did crap like that without feeling the least bit conscious of ourselves.

I love them dogs but I swear, living in close quarters with two hyper active and fun loving canines, everything else starts to smell like dog! But seriously though, I hereby declare that if and when I ever get my own place in the future, the only way I’m getting my Saint Bernard is if my house comes with a nice little garden for him to poo-poo. Amen to that!
